My connection to Northern Michigan began long before I became a REALTOR. I relocated to the Cottage Grove Association in 1984, where the area’s architecture and surroundings helped deepen my appreciation for creativity, place, and the characteristics that make a property feel distinctive.
Northern Michigan eventually became the place where my education, professional experiences, community involvement, and interest in housing came together.
Today, I’m Erica Blair, a Roscommon MI REALTOR with Keller Williams Team Partners, helping buyers and sellers navigate real estate throughout Roscommon and surrounding communities.
My path into real estate was not a straight line—and that diverse background continues to influence how I approach properties, people, and problem-solving.
Creativity has always been an important part of how I see the world. I pursued higher education in Northern Michigan, including two Associate’s Degrees from Kirtland Community College. I later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Sculpture from Northern Michigan University.
Studying sculpture gave me experience thinking about physical space, materials, form, and creative processes. While real estate is a very different profession, that background contributes to the perspective I bring when considering properties and working through challenges.
My professional journey also included experience in the art gallery and film sectors, where I learned the importance of building relationships and communicating with people from different backgrounds.
I eventually returned to my roots and joined Blarney Stone Broadcasting. Through that work, I developed relationships with local businesses and nonprofit organizations and gained another perspective on the communities that make up this region.
My community involvement later became even more hands-on. I dedicated a year to AmeriCorps and the Grayling Main Street program, an experience that deepened my understanding of local community challenges. During this period, I became increasingly aware of the importance of housing and the need for people to have knowledgeable guidance when navigating real estate.
That experience helped inspire my decision to obtain my real estate license and build a career helping people buy and sell property in Northern Michigan.
My background may have brought me to real estate through an unconventional route, but it gave me something valuable: an understanding that properties and communities are connected to people’s individual plans.
My experience includes residential homes, vacant land and building lots, recreational and hunting acreage, mobile homes, commercial real estate, waterfront properties, and relocation assistance. That range matters because no two transactions should automatically be approached the same way.
A first-time buyer may need help understanding an unfamiliar process. A waterfront buyer may have property-specific questions about frontage or access. A land buyer may need to investigate boundaries, zoning, utilities, and intended use. A seller may need guidance on positioning a property for the market. I adapt my real estate guidance to the client and property rather than forcing every transaction into the same process.
My connection to the area remains an important part of how I work. I’m a graduate of Roscommon Schools, and my education, community involvement, and professional history are deeply connected to Northern Michigan.
I now serve an approximately 50-mile radius around Roscommon, including Higgins Lake, Houghton Lake, Grayling, St. Helen, Prudenville, and surrounding communities. As a solo REALTOR, I work directly with my clients. My goal is to provide clear communication, professional guidance, and personal attention while helping you understand the real estate decisions in front of you.
My clients’ own words reinforce the importance of that approach. Verified Google reviews have highlighted attentiveness, quick responses, and support throughout the real estate process. You can read their firsthand experiences on my Testimonials page.
